Leave a print is an animated short about dealing with gradually losing a loved one and how the characters cope and come to terms with their grief leading to an optimistic though poignant end.
The film has a charming classic style and deals with complex emotions and situations. It's suitable for all audiences and will engage both children and adults.
About the story:
Leave a print is based on a personal experience of losing a grandfather to terminal illness and the characters in the film is based on real people. The transparency is used to explain and explore how an illness can make the person the family knew gradually fade away long before they die and how one must learn to accept this. The idea was to tell, in a very matter of fact way, what is happening during these kinds of situations, but also acknowledge that this doesn't change the imprint a person leaves behind.
